Lex Hull-Muncher

Lex's Story

Lex Hull-Muncher graduated from Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where she prepped under Coach Alan Jones.

 

While at Ballard High School, Lex received the 2015 3A Player of the Year and 4x All-State selection. She then went on to play for two years at the University of South Carolina and finished her softball career at Jacksonville State University. In her four years of playing college softball (2015-2019), Lex made the 2016 All-Freshman Scholar-Athlete Team, was 2x SEC Academic All-American, won the 2018 OVC Championship and 2019 Regular Season OVC Championship, and was the 2019 JSU Sport Management Student of the Year. 

 

In 2021, Lex graduated from JSU with a Master’s Degree in Sport Management, where she was also the graduate teaching assistant for the Kinesiology department. While earning her Master’s, she was the assistant coach for an A-Class travel ball team - Tennessee Mojo-Cherry, started a travel catching clinic business, was a full-time instructor at Top Gun (Oxford), and began a student-athlete mental health awareness movement called - I am, I play. 

 

Within the last four years, Lex has had the opportunity to send over 30 girls to the next level, including SEC, PAC-12, and ACC caliber athletes, while traveling to 14 different states and working with 500+ catchers. Lex also assisted in two Junior Olympic Cup Championships. She’s networked and connected with thousands of female athletes though I am, I play and co-founded GRIT Softball Academy, which coaches over 100+ athletes every week.

 

For her day job, Lex is a PE Teacher and Softball Coach at White Plains High School, where she loves her students, players, and community.

 

Lex is married to her best friend Blake, and they have two dogs - Odie the French Bulldog and Bear the German Shepherd. She loves spending time with her family, eating Thai food, and thrifting.
